Janick Cech was born in Germany in 2004. He received his first piano lessons from his father at the age of six. From 2019 to 2022, he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich as a junior student with Prof. Michael Schäfer. In addition to his studies, he received valuable impulses from top-class professors such as Claudio Martínez Mehner, Lev Natochenny, and Antti Siirala. He is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy Liechtenstein and regularly takes part in the intensive weeks and activities held there.
Janick is the first prize winner of the "International Robert Schumann Competition" in Düsseldorf 2021 and has won multiple first prizes at the national competition "Jugend musiziert" (piano solo and chamber music). In 2017, he received a special prize for outstanding achievements from the Steinway House in Munich. Since October 2023, Janick has been studying at the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar with Prof. Michail Lifits and Prof. Grigory Gruzman.
